5 stars for Blakey
3 stars for Jess
Split the difference and settle on 4.

*SQUEEEEEELLLL* That was my reaction prior to starting Good Boy. A book all about Blake? Let the hot games begin…except that’s not what happened. I think I’m broken. I blame m/m romance books. They have changed my enjoyment factor for het romance. Before my het hiatus(about the last 3-4 months), this book would have been my JAM!! I would have made it rain with stars. But I just got used to reading about 2 hot guys without all the hormones that girls bring to the table. Maybe Jess’ brain was fried after the efficient use of the massage chair. Holy Hotness Batman!

I ended my het hiatus for Blake and the other important character who makes frequent appearances…Blake’s snake. I love Blake’s personality. He is like the class clown/hot/funny/lovingly obnoxious guy that has a depth to him that many do not see. My heart melts when I read his POV and I just want to put him in my pocket and carry him with me always. He comes up with shit like “feed the kitty” and we aren’t talking about the 4 legged variety. It’s a good thing I wasn’t drinking my Starbucks when we were blessed with the “you just need a little recharge on my docking station,” yes. please. Blake also got the 5 stars because I felt the connection he wanted with Jess and how much he wanted to not only sex her up but have a relationship with her. I found myself wishing that Blake would find himself a nice man to take home and get what Wes and Jamie have to make it all better.

Jess…she made me roll my eyes a million times. I had a hard time connecting with her because she had a hard time connecting with Blake. (view spoiler)

I’d like to give her the benefit of the doubt, her brain cells may have been fried from all the sexy times. I would too if I had an experience in the coat closet like that. How did she remain so casual after that intermission? I needed more from her. It seemed she had a greater connection with his family at certain points than with Blake. I just wanted to shake her and remind her of the catch she was shacking up with.

All in all, I liked the book, loved Blake, and I now need a massage chair. 😉

Honorable mention: Dyson! He cracked me up. “Dyson like the vacuum…want a demonstration?” Brillant!
