Life has not always been kind to Shannon Dupree. On the outside he’s carefree and fun loving, but when it comes to his past he’s evasive and secretive. Running away from emotionally bereft parents at just fifteen, Shannon escapes life with them but steps into the waiting arms of the devil.
Rory Landers is a rising star at the Bureau. His personal life, however, is nothing to write home about. He hopes to take his limited relationship with Frank Moore to the next level when they finally solve the Langford murder case, but that doesn’t turn out as planned. On the plus side, he meets free-spirited college senior Shannon Dupree.
Rand Davis finds himself fortysomething and single when his partner of more than a decade is unfaithful. Taking over the Cold Case Squad frees up some of his time, and Rand welcomes newfound friendships within the Langford-Moore family circle. He thinks relationships are not in the cards for him until he meets an agent with an attitude and a vivacious blond that make him want so much more.
Past, present, pain, and suffering collide, ushering in the possibility of a life and love worth fighting for. Although their personalities couldn’t be more different, their three hearts beat the same. Shannon, Rory, and Rand learn the definition of love, commitment, and strength and if they allow themselves, the trio will find all that and more—in each other.

Music is a necessary part of my writing. I have playlists for every book I’ve written as well as favorite songs lists and certain artists I follow on youtube that I listen to while writing. I also search out LGBTQ artists and always have at least one song on every playlist from an open, out artist like Adam Lambert, Steve Grand and Eli Lieb. As an Author of Gay Romance I feel like it’s important to represent the genre and what better way than to share some really great artists and songs with all my readers?
The playlist for Lover needed to include songs for each guy as well as songs that would fit for their journey, their relationship, the struggles to come to terms with their feelings for one another while chartering the foreign territory that is a working threesome.
The first song on the list is ‘Bad at Love’ by Halsey. Seriously, within the first three chapters you’ll see that all three men haven’t had the best like with Love.
‘Find you’ by Nick Jonas was a song that made me think of Shannon the first time I heard it. He wants to be loved the right way so very badly. But even when love presents itself, he still struggles with letting that person get under his skin, has issues with thinking of anything as permanent.
‘Let it Go’ by James Bay screams Rory, and if you’ve read book 1 you know exactly why. If not, you really should because you get a bit of Rory’s backstory in Survivor.
‘Mercy’ by Shawn Mendes has Rand written all over it. He really takes a risk with his heart by falling in love with these two men.
I also had to include a video of my muse for Shannon; Actor, Model and Singer, Lucky Blue Smith. All the other songs on the list fit within the story like pieces of a puzzle and I hope you’ll read the book and where a certain song fits it will click for you.
